1 Killed In Wrong-Way Crash In Fox Lake
A 21-year-old man was killed in the crash and 48-year-old man was injured. The collision happened on Route 12 near Route 134.
FOX LAKE, IL — A 21-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Fox Lake.
The collision happened at about 9:40 p.m. when a black Cadillac traveling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 12 collided with a northbound Ford van, according to a news release from the Fox Lake Police Department. The crash happened on Route 12 north of Route 134.
Both drivers needed to be extricated from their vehicles and both were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center.

The driver of the Ford, a 21-year-old man, was initially listed in critical condition and later died at the hospital. The driver of the Cadillac, a 48-year-old man, is in stable condition and has cuts and possible fractures, authorities said Friday.
Authorities closed down the roadway until 2 a.m. Friday, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
