Mundelein Craft Beer Festival

Craft beer festivals are popular this summer and Mundelein will be hosting its fourth annual craft beer festival this weekend. The festival will feature 42 breweries, live music and food. The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday in front of the Mundelein Village Hall, 300 Plaza Circle. Full-access tickets are available for $40 and can be purchased online. First Fridays in Libertyville

Historic Home Tours in Libertyville

The 12th Annual Historic Home Tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. There are five homes included on this year’s tour. Tickets can be purchased before the day of the event for $15, and for $20 on June 6. More information is available online.

Jam Fest in Round Lake Park

Jam Fest will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday at Greenwood Park, located at Greenwood Drive and Elder Drive in Round Lake Park. More information is available on the event’s Facebook page.

Highwood 2015 Redhead Days

Calling all redheads! On June 6 and 7, the city of Highwood will host the United States’ first-ever Redhead Days Festival. The family-friendly festival will take place at Highwood’s City Hall Park, 17 Highwood Avenue, where participants can register to be a part of the record breaking photo, purchase any signature “ginger gear, drinks, and goodies,” vote for their favorite carrot cake, and then head out to stroll the streets of Highwood and see how Highwood businesses are painting the town red. It will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day on the lawn of Highwood’s city hall. Read more on Highland Park Patch.

Harvard Milk Days

For those living in the far northwest suburbs, the Harvard Milk Days festival might be worth your while to check out this weekend. The festival is held June 4 through 7 and includes a parade, carnival, food, fireworks, petting zoo and other animals, races, contests and entertainment. International Children’s Day Festival

The event will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cook County Forest Preserve, Dam No. 1 Woods, Grove No. 1, 341 Dundeed Road in Wheeling. The event will raise funds for Raising Funds for the Arts4Kids Foundation, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children and Blagomay “Благомай” (Orphaned Children of Ukraine or Ukrainian children misplaced by war). Heritage Park Grand Opening and Community Celebration in Wheeling

Events and activities will be held throughout the day Sunday at Heritage Park, which is located along South Wolf Road just south West Dundee Road. Activities will include sunrise yoga and other outdoor group fitness classes, segway and bike tours of Heritage Park, floating lantern display, Maggie Speaks concert, Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band performance, trackless train rides, radio-controlled boats, dodgeball tournament, knockerball, hot-air balloon rides and more. Picnic in the Park in Arlington Heights

The Arlington Heights Picnic in the Park will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The events will be held at North School Park at Eastman Street and Arlington Heights Road. All activities are free and include: micro reality stock car racing, moonwalks and inflatable slide, balloon sculptures, face painting and more. There will be entertainment by Jeanie B and the Jellybeans (from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.) and from Ac-Rock (6 to 7:30 p.m.).

Promenade of Art Festival in Arlington Heights

The 13th annual Promenade of Art returns June 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., along Vail and Campbell streets in downtown Arlington Heights. Free and open to the public, the Promenade of Art will showcase the work of more than 125 juried artists from across the country in a variety of mediums, including paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. Taste of Wheaton Returns

Soulfeed Smooth Jazz Festival in Aurora

A full day of jazz will great visitors to the Soulfeed Smooth Jazz Festival in Aurora Saturday. Gates open at 3 p.m. and musical acts will take the stage from 4 to 10 p.m. Those performing include Mambo Express, Emcee: Denise Jordan Walker, Walter Beasley and Hiroshima. Tickets are $40. The event will be held at RiverEdge Park, 360 N. Broadway in Aurora.
