2 Men Pistol Whipped, Robbed Near Round Lake

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Two men were seriously injured when a man pistol whipped them and then robbed them, police said.

The incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 24500 block of West Forest Avenue in unincorporated Round Lake. At that time, a 23-year-old Round Lake man and a 20-year-old Round Lake Beach man told police they were leaving a party at a home when they were approached by a stranger, according to a news release form the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Both men sustained serious injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

It is unknown if shots were fired during the robbery. The incident remains under investigation.
