4 Winning Lottery Tickets Sold In Chicago Area

The prizes surpass $1 million and lottery officials are urging those who recently bought Lucky Day Lotto tickets to check them.

ACROSS ILLINOIS β€” There are four very lucky lottery winners out in the Chicago area right now, lottery officials announced Thursday. Since June 25, Lucky Day Lotto tickets sold in Des Plaines, Harwood Heights, Bensenville and Lindenhurst have been picked as winners, with prizes totaling $1.025 million, according to an Illinois Lottery news release.

And lottery officials are urging those who recently bought a Lucky Day Lotto ticket to check it. The first winning ticket totaling $600,000 was sold on June 25 at ZJ's Pantry Plus Liquor in Des Plaines, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery. The retailer will receive a $6,000 bonus on the recent win, which is the largest in the store's history.

The next day, a $200,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket was sold at a Mobil in Harwood Heights. On June 28, two winning tickets split the $250,000 jackpot with one $125,000 ticket sold at a Clark gas station in Lindenhurst and another $125,000 winning ticket sold at Huck's in Hayworth.

The most recent win came on June 29 when a $100,000 Lucky Day Lotta ticket was sold at the Clark on York Road in Bensenville.

The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep it in a safe place, and call 1-800-252-1775 for more information on how to claim their prize. Guidelines for mailing in prize claims are available on the Illinois Lottery website.

Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw in which to claim their prize, according to lottery officials.
