“Many people took the responsible step of planning ahead and designating a sober driver. We can’t emphasize it enough -- buzzed driving is drunk driving,” said Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran.
The additional Halloween patrols were funded through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Administration. The grant is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Bureau of Safety Programs and Engineering.
