GRAYSLAKE, IL — A blind North Chicago man has filed a lawsuit against a Grayslake car dealership, alleging employees used deceptive “bait-and-switch” tactics during his attempt to purchase a new vehicle, according to reports.
Jerry Bosley filed the suit in Lake County Circuit Court against City Chevrolet of Grayslake, according to Lake & McHenry County Scanner. The suit claims the dealership changed pricing and financing terms after initially advertising different terms for the sale, which resulted in the man paying more than $10,000 over the advertised vehicle price.
The case alleges the man— who does not drive but purchased the car so others could drive him — was taken advantage of because of his visual impairment and is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages in excess of the statutory $50,000 judicial threshold, according to the article.
