Man Accused Of Trying To Run Over Brother: Police

A 60-year-old man accelerated his pickup truck toward his sibling during the argument in Antioch this past week, according to reports.

Investigators say the two brothers were involved in a dispute when the suspect allegedly accelerated toward his sibling in the parking lot Tuesday afternoon, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. (Lake County Sheriff)

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Police in Antioch arrested a 60-year-old man after they say he tried to run over his brother with a pickup truck during an argument in a parking lot near the former Piggly Wiggly on Orchard Street, according to media reports.

Investigators say the two brothers were involved in a dispute when the suspect allegedly accelerated toward his sibling in the parking lot Tuesday afternoon, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. The brother was able to get out of the way and was not injured, according to police.

George Stachura, 60, was later taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault involving a motor vehicle, according to the Daily Herald.

He is being held at the Lake County Jail following a detention hearing Thursday, according to online jail records.
