ANTIOCH, IL — An Antioch High School football player was hospitalized in critical condition after suffering a serious injury during a varsity game Friday night.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. during Antioch's home game against Schaumburg, according to the Lake and McHenry County Scanner. Firefighters and athletic trainers treated the player on the field before paramedics were called to the scene because of the severity of the injuries.
The player was taken by ambulance to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was admitted in critical condition and immediately underwent a CT scan.
