The American Cancer Society Wig Boutiques Offer Free Wigs and Other Accessories for Cancer Patients

“Losing your hair is hard. Finding a free wig isn’t.”

LINCOLNSHIRE, WAUKEGAN, GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – The American Cancer Society offers an opportunity for cancer patients to receive free wigs at local wig boutiques in three different locations.

The Lake County Regional Office, the Cancer Wellness Center and the Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital contain wig boutiques that provide cancer patients suffering from the effects of chemotherapy and radiation brand-new wigs, scarves and hats. Volunteers will assist patients in finding a wig that not only fits their personal taste, but also will conduct a wig fitting to ensure it fits correctly. In order to receive a free wig, scarf, or hat, the American Cancer Society asks that each individual call prior to visiting the wig boutiques to set up an appointment at 847-317-0025.
