Antioch Hostage Situation Ends Peacefully: Police

ANTIOCH, IL — A barricade situation reported in Antioch over the weekend ended peacefully, authorities said.

Police responded to an area of the 1100 block of Edgewater Lane in Antioch at about 9 a.m. Saturday for a report of a possibly armed person. Police urged residents to avoid that area and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System and several other police agencies responded to assist, according to a news release from the Antioch Police Department.

Within two hours, the person surrounded to police, according to a post on the Antioch Police Department Facebook page. Nobody was injured in the incident.
