Antique Flea Market At Lake Co. Fairgrounds Cancelled
Lake County Fairgrounds employees are working with vendors to determine whether to cancel future events.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Illinois Antique "Flea" Market at the Lake County Fairgrounds has been cancelled. Meanwhile, fairgrounds employees are working closely with their vendors to decide on whether to cancel future events while also taking into consideration guidance from "federal, state and local health organizations," according to information posted on the Lake County Fairgrounds Facebook page.
Additional measures and practices are being put in place to ensure the safety and health of anyone who enters fairgrounds' buildings and grounds, including cleaning contact surfaces, like doorknobs and restrooms, more often; adding more hand sanitizer; and asking those who've traveled to countries hit hard by the new coronavirus not to report for their shifts, Jon Brodzik, general manager for the Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center, said in a statement.
In addition, visitors to the fairgrounds are asked to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds; stay home if they are sick or feel sick; use hand sanitizer and tissues and follow other health guidelines set up by the Center for Disease Control and Lake County Health Department.
