Come see what the community’s creative minds can do at the 3rd annual Maker Faire Lake County from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at the PE Center of the Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake, IL, 60030. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.

Maker Faire Lake County is a show-and-tell for innovative designers, creators, builders and tinkerers. It celebrates the multifaceted fields of making, perfect for creative children and adults in Lake County—from engineers to scientists to crafters. The event also showcases CLC’s home for makers at the Grayslake Campus, the Baxter Innovation Lab, which opened in 2018. Many Makers develop exhibits with hands-on features to go along with their demonstrations.

“We are really excited about the wide variety of exhibits this year,” said CLC Engineering Faculty and Maker Faire Producer Jan Edwards. “There will be music-making tesla coils, a roaming R2-D2, 3D printing experts, several local maker spaces and a variety of area students showcasing their projects.”
