Are These Really the 20 Best High Schools in Illinois?

A number of Illinois high schools regularly appear on lists naming the best in the state, as is the case for a set of rankings released by the website, City Described.

The placement of some of these high schools might surprise you, though City Described’s scoring system doesn’t seem to rely solely on statistical data like test scores.

Take a look at which high schools City Described considers the 20 best overall in Illinois right now. As a parent of student who might attend one of these institutions, do you agree with the group’s assessment?

And Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan has shifted his stance on how to go about appointing a new comptroller, a move that certainly will irk incoming Gov. Bruce Rauner, who recently appointed Leslie Munger of Lincolnshire to the vacant post.
