The Little Prince showtimes have also feel set.
CLC: Actors age 12 and above are invited to audition for the College of Lake County’s fall children’s show “The Little Prince.” Auditions start at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Aug. 21 in the Studio Theatre, James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, Grayslake Campus. The location is 19351 W. Washington St. in Grayslake.
Those auditioning should prepare one 60-90 second comedic monologue or light monologue. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily. You need only attend Tuesday or Wednesday auditions, not both. Bring an acting resume if you have one and also a photo (candid one is acceptable). Callbacks take place Thursday, Aug. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
Rehearsals begin Monday, Aug. 26 and take place Monday-Thursday evenings, with the possibility of an occasional Sunday rehearsal depending on need. You must be available for all rehearsals from Sept. 16 through the performances. Showtimes are: Thursday, Sept. 26 and Friday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m.; Saturday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.

A beloved children’s classic, “The Little Prince” has enchanted both children and adults alike for 75 years. It is the story of a world-weary aviator whose malfunctioning plane strands him in the middle of the Sahara Desert. There, he meets an imaginative boy who claims to hail from an unknown star. The Little Prince delights the aviator with stories of his adventures and teaches him the secret of what is really important in life—that, “what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
The play, by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar, is adapted from the book of the same name by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The show is being directed by Alicia Hall. For audition information, contact Hall at ahall1@clcillinois.edu. To stay current on CLC Theatre, visit the department’s Facebook page.
