Authorities Warn Of Scammers Targeting Flood Victims
Scammers have been going door-to-door soliciting business from those affected by floods.

Reports of scammers taking advantage of flood victims have been on the rise in Lake County in recent days. The Lake County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to be wary of these scammers who are going door-to-door attempting to solicit business. Lake County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli said some will attempt to solicit money for services they do not provide.
And others attempt ruse burglary scams and try to lure the homeowners outside and then steal belongings from their home.
"These types of scams tend to pick up during times of natural disaster," Covelli said. "The Emergency Operations Center have fielded a number of calls where residents have concerns about individual that have come to their doors."
