Bicyclist Critically Injured After Collision With Semi

The 53-year-old Grayslake woman was seriously injured in the incident Thursday morning in Kenosha County, Wisconsin.

KENOSHA COUNTY, WI β€” A 53-year-old Grayslake woman was seriously injured fter a semi collided with her bicycle in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, on Thursday morning.

The incident happened at about 10:05 a.m. Thursday in the 15200 block of County Highway K in Bristol. Authorities say a 1998 Kenworth semi-truck headed and the bicyclist were headed east on County Highway K when the bicycle suddenly veered in front of the semi.

The semi hit the bicycle, and the bicyclist, a 53-year-old Grayslake woman, was taken to Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital with serious injuries. The woman remained in critical condition, authorities said Friday.

The driver of the semi has been cited for operating a commercial vehicle without a license. The crash remains under investigation, and the public is encouraged to contact the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department with any information regarding the crash at 262-605-5100.
