The Big Game: District 127 Hosts Special Olympics Basketball Game
Grayslake Central and North Special Olympics Athletes Face-Off Against Grant
Grayslake, Illinois. March 4, 2022 – Grayslake Community High School District 127 is proud to host our annual Special Olympics basketball game at Grayslake North High School against Northern Lake County Conference rival Grant Community High School. The athletes will be competing in front of the North student body at 2:00 pm on March 4, 2022.
Our District 127 Special Olympics program consists of special education students from both Grayslake North and Grayslake Central High School; both Grant and Grayslake athletes are in grades 9-12. It is difficult to describe the impact this unique game has on those participating, as well as those in the stands.
“My favorite part of The Big Game is when the crowd screams for me when I score points and dribble.” – Angel Martinez, Student-Athlete

I am never more proud to be a Knight than I am as I watch everyone at Grayslake North prepare for this very special event.” - Lori DeFiore, GNHS Special Olympics Sponsor
