ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — No one was injured when a blaze broke out Wednesday afternoon at a home in Round Lake Beach.
Authorities said a neighbor to the residence in the 1300 block of North Walnut Drive alerted the family to the blaze and also called 911 to report the fire at about 3:22 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District.
The fire started outside the home and involved a gas service meteor, which contributed to the intensity of the blaze, fire officials said. The fire spread into the home and the basement.
