Body Recovered From Chain O' Lakes Is Missing Boy, 15: Police

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A body recovered from Myers Bay in Fox Lake has been identified as a 15-year-old boy who disappeared while swimming Monday evening, authorities said.

Authorities said the teen, who was not wearing a life jacket at the time, jumped from a boat into the Chain O’Lakes and did not resurface, Fox 32 Chicago is reporting. The boy's body was recovered at about 7:50 p.m., according to Shaw Local.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details, including the teen’s identity and cause and manner of death, have not yet been released.
