EIU Honors Outstanding Adult Students at the University Center
Eastern Illinois University will induct 7 Lake County students into the Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) Honor Society at the University Center on April 23, 2013.
Eastern Illinois University will induct seven Lake County students into the Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) Honor Society at the University Center of Lake County on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 7 p.m. All are adult students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies program that Eastern offers at the University Center. The ASL induction will take place at a reception celebrating the degree program’s 40th anniversary.
Students to be honored include:
· James Anglin, of Grayslake
· John Barrington, of Lake Zurich
· David Chelberg, of Antioch
· Phorcia Griffin, of Zion
· Todd Kurtz, of Lindenhurst
· Wendy Leve, of Gurnee
· Stacey Stewart, of Lindenhurst

Founded in the winter of 1945-46, ASL recognizes the academic achievements of adult university students. It has more than 300 chapters across the United States and was designed “to honor those dedicated adult students who, while adroitly handling their life responsibilities, achieve and maintain high scholastic standards.”
