This past week, I was fortunate enough to take part in such an amazing experience called Writers Week at Grayslake Central High School. I got the chance to meet and talk with Jay Asher, author of 13 Reasons Why, a novel that had a huge impact on my life and personal outlook. I was also able to hear from Jay Bonansinga, author of the Walking Dead series and receive insight into his personal experiences as a writer. I also got to see my first slam poetry when the Young Chicago Authors performed. This past week opened up my mind to a whole new variety of creativity. Hearing these various, successful people truly motivated me to look more deeply into my creative talents. I can't wait for Writers Week to take place again next year!
