Thinking about going back to school? Learn what's available at the University Center of Lake County at an information session on July 14 from 6 - 8 pm at 1200 University Center Drive in Grayslake.

Have you been thinking about going back to school to finish your bachelor's degree, get a master's degree, or complete a professional development certificate?  Have you been curious about the University Center of Lake County, wondering how it works and what programs are offered?  Then I've got an invitation for you.

University Center will host an information session on Thursday, July 14, from 6 to 8 pm at the Grayslake facility (1200 University Center Drive; at the intersection of Washington St. and Lancer Lane).  Representatives from the University Center’s member institutions will be on hand to answer questions and provide further information about their programs.  Please join us.

80 or more programs  are offered through the University Center from 19 member colleges and universities.  Programs are currently available in Grayslake, at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, or via online study.   These range from bachelor’s completion programs designed to build on the education available through community colleges or through prior college attendance, to graduate degree programs and professional development certificates.

Each university or college offers selected programs designed to meet the needs of people in the Lake County region who find it impossible to go away to college or to commute into the city or out to a distant suburb to complete their education.  One of our Board members recently likened us to an "academic food court" that provides a variety of programs in a variety of styles.

New programs for 2011-2012 include a BS in Accounting from Northeastern Illinois University, a BS in Technical Resource Management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a BA in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University.
