Innovations can be hobbies, experiments or projects, ranging from human-powered machines and drones to wearables and e-textiles. Showcase items from your organization, after-school program, club, scout group or start up. The attendees will delight in seeing technology such as 3D printing, computerized numerical control programming, and laser cutting. Or consider items where the attendees can become makers too with projects including interactive art and technology; kites; puppets; robotics; rockets; or sustainability.

Prior to Maker Faire is Make-a-Thon on Saturday, March 11 at CLC’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC). This one-day coding and rapid prototyping workshop is for makers grade 5 to adults ending with a team competition. Mentoring and technical assistance will be provided by CLC engineering interns. All the Make-a-Thon projects will be showcased at Maker Faire Lake County where attendees will vote on the winners. Visit www.clcillinois.edu/events/makerevents for more information and to register.
