Cell Phone Video Captures Brutal Attack in H.S.

GURNEE, IL — The mother of a Gurnee High School student says here son was beaten inside the school is seeking justice and calling on the school to find better ways to address bullying and violence, NBC Chicago reports. The attack Wednesday happened after Tawaun Sanders, 17, got into an argument with a classmate on his school bus.

The beating was captured on cell phone video, and Sanders' mom, Keesha Steptour, says no one stepped into help her son, according to NBC Chicago.

Sanders suffered a concussion. He told NBC he is embarrassed about the situation and the mean comments that followed after the video was posted to social media.

District 121 officials would not comment on the beating, according to the TV station.
