New baseball and softball facilities are part of a larger upgrade plan aimed at improving athletic spaces at CLC, according to reports.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — Construction has officially begun on the College of Lake County’s new sports complex at its Grayslake campus, which will bring upgraded baseball and softball fields along with improved facilities for student-athletes, according to the Daily Herald.

The project is designed to enhance recruiting and provide dedicated spaces, including locker rooms, team areas, and additional amenities for players and fans. Completion is expected ahead of the 2027 seasons, marking the first phase of broader improvements to the college’s outdoor athletic facilities, according to the Daily Herald.

“This project elevates the student-athlete experience andcreates a true home for our baseball and softball program,” Athletic Director Brad Unger told the Daily Herald. “This will be the first time having designated spaces for those programs, with locker rooms and team areas. This is the first phase in improving our outdoor facilities for Lancer athletic programs.”
