Coroner IDs Brother Beaten To Death On Christmas Morning In Gurnee

Authorities say Brandon Bison-Bomis, 47, of Glencoe died after his brother, Kevin Biron-Boomis, 50, of Gurnee, punched him several times.

GURNEE, IL — A 47-year-old man who died fter being beaten to death by his brother early on Christmas Day has been identified as Brandon Biron-Bomis of Glencoe, authorities said Tuesday.

The Lake County Coroner's Office completed an autopsy on Biron-Bomis on Tuesday. According to preliminary results from the autopsy, there was trauma noted, but a final cause of death will be determined once toxicology and further testing has been completed.

Meanwhile, Biron-Bomis's brother, Kevin Biron-Bomis, 50, of Gurnee, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the beating death. Authorities say they first began investigating the incident when they were called to the 1000 block of Boulevard View Avenue in Gurnee at about 1:50 a.m. on Christmas and found a man inside a home unconscious and not breathing.

The man, who was later identified as Brandon Biron-Bomis, was taken to Vista Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation into his death revealed the brothers got into an argument earlier in the evening, and after driving back from Kevin's home in Gurnee, they continued to argue, authorities said. Police said Kevin ended up punching his brother several times until he stopped breathing.

Kevin Biron-Bomis remains behind bars on a $5 million bail, and an investigation into the death is ongoing.
