Coroner IDs Man, 23, Killed In Crash

LAKE VILLA, IL — A 23-year-old Lake Villa man killed in a Sunday single-vehicle crash has been identified as Brandon Holmgren.

The collision happened in the 37000 block of North Route 83 in Lake Villa at about 10 p.m. Emergency crews found the vehicle with heavy damage, according to a news release. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Holmgren died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash, according to the coroner's office.

The death investigation is ongoing by the Lake County Coroner’s Office and the incident is being investigated by the Lake Villa Police Department and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
