Coroner IDs Man Whose Body Was Found In Ditch In Gurnee

GURNEE, IL — A 31-year-old Waukegan man whose body was found in a ditch in Gurnee has been identified as Anthony Hawkins.

Results from an autopsy performed on Hawkins shows he died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office. Hawkins' body was found in a ditch near the intersection of Delany Road and Grove Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

The cause of Hawkins' death remains under investigation by the Major Crash Assistance Team and the Gurnee Police Department.
