Former Deputy Accused Of Falsifying Time Sheets For Overtime Pay

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A former Lake County Sheriff's Office deputy faces official misconduct and theft charges for accusations he claimed to work overtime hours he did not work — but was paid for.
Gregory Swanson, 54, of the 17500 block of West Dartmoor Drive in unincorporated Grayslake, resigned from the sheriff's office in Dec. 2, 2020, amid an investigation into the allegations. Authorities say Swanson submitted time sheets for overtime he did not work was paid more than $4,000 because of this.
A warrant was issued for Swanson's arrest on Wednesday, and the former deputy turned himself into the Lake County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Swanson is next expected in court on Oct. 18.
