Beacon Place hosts Free Summer Lunch Program, Providing Fun Activities for Families and a Backpack of Nourishing Meals every Thursday!


Waukegan, IL – Beacon Place is thrilled to announce its open registration for its highly anticipated Free Summer Lunch Bunch Program, dedicated to ensuring that families in our community have access to wholesome meals and exciting summer activities. The program, running from June 19 to August 2, aims to support parents by providing access to up to six meals in backpacks kids take home every Thursday and creating memorable experiences for children during the summer break.


As summer approaches, families can face increased financial pressures and find our community center serves as a beacon of hope, offering a backpack of food that cater to diverse dietary needs, all free of charge. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden on families, allowing them to focus on creating wonderful memories together.

"Our Free Summer Lunch Program is a testament to our commitment to the well-being of families in our community," said Ninoshka Lopez, the Family and Community Outreach Manager. "We believe that no child should go hungry during the summer, and by providing access to nourishing meals and engaging activities, we hope to support families and create an environment where children can thrive."


The program's activities are designed to keep children entertained, active, and engaged throughout the summer months. Families can expect a wide range of exciting offerings, including arts and crafts, sponsored workshops, outdoor adventures, educational games, and much more. These activities will not only promote physical fitness and creativity but also foster social connections and lifelong friendships.

The Free Summer Lunch Program at Beacon Place will be available from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Mondays and Thursdays, ensuring that families can conveniently access this valuable resource.
