Graysake Offers Electric Vehicle Charging Station Grants To Businesses

The grants will cover the costs for businesses looking to install the charging stations.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — In an effort to increase sustainability efforts in town, the village of Grayslake is offering grants to businesses looking to install electric vehicle charging stations.

Grants are on a first-come, first-served basis, and cover 50 percent of the total cost, or up to $10,000, for the charging stations. The charging stations must be compatible with the majority of electric vehicles in use, and businesses must sign a five-year agreement with the village to show their commitment to maintaining and operating the stations.

The village outlined the electronic vehicle charging station economic incentive grant program in its 2017 sustainability plan. Businesses seeking more information about the grant program can call the village of Grayslake at 847-223-8515.
