Grayslake Arts Alliance Fine Art Show April 22

Artwork of the Grayslake Arts Alliance members will be on display when the community arts group stages its next show.

Artwork of the Grayslake Arts Alliance members will be on display when the community arts group stages its next show, from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at the Grayslake Heritage Center.

"A total of 10 artists have thus far committed to take part in the show, which will also feature the work of
art students from Grayslake District 46," said Marie Hines, an organizer of the event. "Our goal is to have 16 artists showing work at each show. Since April 22 is Earth Day, many pieces are expected to carry an environmental theme."

Music will be provided by professional jazz guitarist and teacher Mike Louie while refreshments will be
donated by Something's Brewing and Uniquely Sweet.

The April 22 show is just one event planned by the GAA this month. Members also will be showing their
work at the Grayslake Farmers Market, as part of a recently formed partnership between the two
organizations.

The final GAA show of the season, known as Mayfest, is scheduled for May 20 outside of the Heritage
Center. Details of that show will be announced as they become available.
