A public water supply boil order has been issued for the areas listed below due to the necessity to turn off the water in order to complete a fire hydrant replacement. The shut-off could have possibly caused a drop in water pressure in the distribution system below the permissible guidelines set by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). Therefore, as a precaution water customers should boil water for cooking and drinking purposes for at least five minutes before using. For boil order guidelines from the Lake County Health Department click here.
The BOIL ORDER will remain in effect until laboratory testing confirms the water quality meets IEPA standards. This is anticipated to be noon on Wednesday December 18th. A follow-up notice will be issued once the Boil Order can be lifted.
