Breakfast Group's Pocket Change Raises $1,500 For Charities
The Grayslake Breakfast Business Group collects change weekly and then donates it at the end of the year.
Our business networking group has long employed a weekly custom of passing a Folger's coffee can around the room for members and guests to toss in pocket change which we use at the end of the year to donate to local organizations that serve our community. The Grayslake Business Breakfast Group network meets on Tuesday mornings from 7:30 a.m.- 8:30 a.m. and of our groups many traditions, this one is a member favorite. It is important for our group to not just support each other and other local businesses, but to remember those non for profit organizations that serve the citizens of our community. Our 2021 recipients include: The Lake County Opioid Initiative (https://opioidinitiative.org), PADS of Lake County (https://www.padslakecounty.org), and ElderCARE of Lake County (https://www.eldercarelakecounty).
The "pocket change for charity" custom amounted to $1,500 in donations and support. If you own a local business in the Grayslake area, be our guest one Tuesday morning at Whitney Street Café in historic, downtown Grayslake. Meeting starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 8:30 a.m.
