Grayslake Coronavirus Cases Surpass 450

LAKE COUNTY, IL — More than 18,000 people in Lake County have tested positive for COVID-19 to date, according to the latest numbers released by the Lake County Department of Health. As of Monday, 18,056 positive cases of the virus have been reported in the county and 481 people have died from COVID-19.

In Grayslake, there have been between 290 and 294 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date and and between 160 to 164 cases in unincorporated Grayslake. About a month ago, there were between 230 and 234 cases reported in Grayslake and between 135 to 139 in unincorporated Grayslake.

In Lake County, increases in the percentage of emergency department visits of patients with coronavirus symptoms and the per capita number of new cases detected led state public health officials to declare the county at a warning level, which is indicated with "orange" on the county-level risk metrics map, according to the IDPH.

The target for new cases per 100,000 people is less than 50, but Lake County had 90 between Sept. 27 and Oct. 3— and the percentage of emergency room visits consisting of people with CLI increased to 4.3 percent during the same time frame. In McHenry County, which is not at a warning level, there were 63 new cases per 100,000 people and only 1.8 percent of ER visits were for CLI.

• There have been between 4,125 to 4,129 confirmed cases to date in Waukegan and 155 to 159 cases in unincorporated Waukegan.
  • About a month ago, there were between 3,775 to 3,779 cases in Waukegan and between 135 to 139 cases in unincorporated Waukegan.
• In North Chicago, between 1,375 and 1,379 cases of COVID-19 have been reported to date; there have been less than five cases of the virus in unincorporated North Chicago.
  • About a month ago, there were between 1,115 cases of COVID-19 reported in North Chicago and less than five cases in unincorporated North Chicago.
• In Long Grove, there have been between 280 to 284 confirmed cases of coronavirus to date and there have been between 5 to 9 cases in unincorporated Long Grove.
  • About a month ago, there were between 265 to 269 cases in Long Grove and between five and nine cases in unincorporated Long Grove.
• In Round Lake, there have been between 455 and 459 cases of COVID-19 to date and there have been between 360 to 364 cases in unincorporated Round Lake.

• In Lake Zurich, there have been between 350 to 354 confirmed cases of coronavirus to date and 65 to 69 cases in unincorporated Lake Zurich.

• In Libertyville, there have been between 290 and 294 cases to date and 85 to 89 cases in unincorporated Libertyville
