Grayslake High Schools Could Get Solar Panels in Effort to Reduce Energy Costs
The village board could vote on the project to install solar panels at the high school on July 5.

GRAYSLAKE, IL - Grayslake high schools are one step closer to having solar panels installed by the start of next school year.
The solar panels received tentative approval from the Grayslake Village Board and could be up for formal consideration on Tuesday, July 5, the Daily Herald reports. Grayslake High School District borrowed $5.9 million for the project through a bond sale with the hopes of the solar panels would help cut energy costs and possibly become a source of revenue for the district.
If approved, 1,920 solar panels would be installed on Grayslake Central’s roof and 2,245 solar panels would cover most of Grayslake North’s roof while 4,590 panels would be mounted on the ground at Grayslake North, the Daily Herald reports.
