An increase in property tax revenue for two school districts and the addition of jobs for the area did not sway some local residents from continuing to oppose a controversial truck terminal that is currently under construction in Grayslake, the Daily Herald reports.
Grayslake village trustees met on Tuesday and approved a zoning change for the 33-acre site that will allow the $14 million Saia Motor Freight facility to move forward with construction at the southwest corner of Peterson and Midlothian roads, according to the article.

At least 60 residents, most from Mundelein, showed up to the meeting as did Mundelein Mayor Steve Lentz who said the location is an inappropriate spot for the trucking facility, which will be close to a residential neighborhood in Mundelein, the newspaper reports. Lentz said the facility will cause too much noise and bring deisel emissions.
Grayslake Mayor Rhett Taylor said the Saia will create at least 60 new jobs at the facility and the truck terminal will bring an increase in annual property tax revenue for Fremont Elementary District 79 and Mundelein High School District 120, according to the Daily Herald.
