LAKE COUNTY, IL — A native of Grayslake has been nominated as the Libertarian Party candidate for this fall's presidential election. Jo Jorgensen was selected as the party's nominee during a "historic" virtual convention that included delegates from across the U.S.

Spike Cohen has been selected as the party's nominee for vice president.

Jorgensen said she's happy to represent the party as "a real choice." She said Republican President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, who are also expected to appear on the ballot this fall, are just an "option between big government and more big government."
