Grayslake Sumer Days Fest Cancelled

The Grayslake Summer Days Festival, which was slated to happen on Aug. 14 and 15, has been cancelled.

GRAYSLAKE, IL β€” Organizers announced this past week that the Grayslake Summer Days Festival, which was slated to occur Aug. 14 and Aug. 15, has been canceled, according to the Daily Herald. Summer Days Chairman Gregory Koeppen said the decision to cancel was made to protect the health and safety of the event's volunteers, attendees and the Grayslake community amid concerns over COVID-19.

Festival organizers planned to recognize the fact that Grayslake was incorporated 125 years during this year's festival.

"We planned a year filled with family events to commemorate our 125th. The good news is we get an extra year to continue planning as we celebrate our 125th plus one in 2021," Koeppen told the Daily Herald. "I guarantee there isn't a town in America that will ever have a 126th anniversary celebration like we have planned for Grayslake."
