Grayslake Woman Attacks Metra Conductor After Argument Over Train Fare: Police

She is charged with aggravated battery.

A 30-year-old Grayslake woman faces felony charges after she was arrested Saturday for grabbing a Metra conductor’s hair and throwing her off the train and onto the platform in an argument over train fare, the Chicago Tribune reports.

A $25,000 bail was ordered Sunday for Irene J. Ruiz, 30, who is charged with aggravated battery to a transit employee. The allegations stem from a Sept. 12 incident when, police said Ruiz, was getting off the train in Chicago and grabbed the conductor’s hair, threw her onto the platform and began kicking her in the head.

The two had gotten into an argument during the train ride over the cost of Ruiz’s train fare, according to the article.
