Grayslake Woman Killed In Crash With Police Patrol Car

The woman was driving her car in Waukegan when investigators say she crossed the center line and collided with the Waukegan patrol car.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 58-year-old Grayslake woman was killed when her car collided with a Waukegan Police Department patrol car in Waukegan Thursday morning.

The collision happened at about 5 a.m. at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Butrick Street, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office. Investigators believe a 2012 silver Chevy Cobalt headed east on Grand Avenue crossed the centerline and hit a fully-marked squad car, which was westbound on Grand Avenue.

The Cobalt hit the rear driver's side of the patrol car and then hit a building in the 1300 block of Grand Avenue. The driver of the Cobalt, Teresa Williams, 58, of Grayslake, was pronounced dead at the scene.
