Gymnastics Coach from Grayslake Competes on 'American Ninja Warrior'

Andrew Lowes placed 11 out of 112 athletes in the qualifying round of American Ninja Warrior, according to the Daily Herald.

A gymnastics coach from Grayslake is competing in the fifth Season of NBC's American Ninja Warrior, recently finishing 11th out of 112 athletes in the qualifying round and advancing to nationals, according to the Daily Herald. 

Andrew Lowes is competing in the obstacle course competition show, vying for a trip to Vegas and chance to win the $500,000 grand prize, according to the article. 

Lowes, 30, said during his audition video that he tried out for Season 4 after breaking up with his girlfriend and losing his home in Grayslake. He made it past the qualifying round but was then knocked out of the competition, according to the Daily Herald. 

American Ninja Warrior airs at 7 p.m. every Monday, according to the NBC website.
