Lake Co. Coroner’s Office Hires Forensic Pathologist

Lake County Coroner, Dr. Howard Cooper, announced the hiring today of Dr. Eimad Zakariya. Dr. Zakariya comes to us from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, where he served as a board-certified Forensic Pathologist, for the last 6 years.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Dr. Zakariya to our team. He brings with him many years of experience and he will be the first full-time forensic pathologist the county has ever had. Employing a full-time forensic pathologist will not only offer us a large financial savings, but will be a huge asset to our county and to the citizens of Lake County on many other levels,” Dr. Cooper stated.

“I am very excited to be joining the Lake County Coroner’s Office, in its mission to serve the citizens of Lake County,” Dr. Zakariya added. Dr. Zakariya will begin his employment with the county on November 2, 2020.
