Lake Co. Sheriff's Office Arrests Wanted Sex Offender

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested a wanted sex offender who has been on the lam since October 2016.

Sean M. Dowd, 23, of the 100 block of Nasa Circle in Round Lake, was wanted on a $250,000 arrest warrant for violating the sex offender registration act, a class 3 felony, and on a $250,000 failure to appear warrant for aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a Lake Co. Sheriff’s Office news release.

On Tuesday, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team and the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) developed information on the whereabouts of Dowd.

They learned Dowd was at a residence in the 500 block of Archer Ave. in Waukegan and found Dowd in the basement of the home.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lake County Jail.
