LWV of Lake County Impressed with Lake County Clerk's Secure Processes
League of Women Voters of Lake County members attend public test of Automatic Tabulating Equipment and Vote-By-Mail Processing Center
The League of Women Voters of Lake County is committed to its mission of empowering voters and defending democracy.
Assuring voters that their vote is important and counts is an important step.
With this in mind, members from the League of Women Voters of Lake County recently attended a test of the Lake County Clerk's automatic tabulating equipment. Before every election, an equipment test in public is required to prove that the equipment functions properly at 100%. The public's opportunity to watch demonstrates the election authority's transparency and accountability which build public trust in the system.

The test proceeded with a series of checks performed on multiple voting machines, each with multiple precincts, to insure that the machines accurately tabulated the votes.
The entire process was thoroughly explained during each step, and all questions were answered.

Another confidence builder in the ability of the Lake County Clerk's Office to efficiently, securely, and accurately perform its election administration responsibilities is the Vote-By-Mail Processing Center.
Earlier in the year, a large group from the League of Women Voters of Lake County toured the County’s new state-of-the-art Vote-By-Mail Processing Center. Three large automatic machines expedited the process exponentially from the previous labor intensive process. As more voters start to appreciate the convenience and security of voting by mail, the Lake County Clerk's Office can handle the increased volume easily.
The League of Women Voters of Lake County is confident that the Lake County Clerk’s Office will provide a complete and accurate ballot count.
The League encourages every eligible citizen to register and vote, for their voice to be heard.
