Coroner IDs Man, 19, Fatally Shot At Party In Wadsworth: Authorities

WADSWORTH, IL — A 19-year-old Waukegan man who was killed after he was fatally shot at a large party in Wadsworth has been identified as Sotero Sanchez, Jr., authorities said.

An autopsy shows Sanchez died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.

Sanchez was shot after he got into an argument with another person at the party in the 40600 block of North Kilbourne Road in Wadsworth early Saturday. Authorities said they were first called to the location at about 1:45 a.m. and found Sanchez, who had been shot several times, and transported him to an area hospital.

The 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.

Authorities are still searching for the shooter. According to police, dozens of people left the party after the shooting, and no one is currently in custody in connection with the incident.
