Man, 30, Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash In Grayslake

The collision happened Monday morning on Route 83 and Center Street.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — A 30-year-old man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Route 83 in Grayslake Monday morning, authorities said.

The collision happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Route 83 at Center Street, police said.

An investigation into the collision revealed a white Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 30-year-old man, appears to have rear-ended a grey Toyota, driven by a 37-year-old man, heading south on Route 83. After rear-ending the Toyota, the Malibu collided with a black Lexus head-on, which had been headed north on Route 83.

The driver of the Malibu was taken to Condell Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Lexus, a 60-year-old man, was taken to Condell with a lower-body injury, police said.

The driver of the Toyota was evaluated on the scene and then released.
