Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman During Child Pickup In Volo

The attack occurred Friday morning at a home in Lake County. Thammaya Siackhasone, 39, now faces sex assault and domestic battery charges.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 39-year-old Volo man faces sex assault and criminal trespassing charges related to allegations he attacked a woman over the weekend after picking up his children from a home.

Thammaya Siackhasone, of the 2700 block of Hartigan Road in Volo, has been arrested and faces several charges, including: home invasion, aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated domestic battery, criminal trespass to residence and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

The assault occurred at about 10 a.m. Friday when Siackhasone went to pick up his children, who are both under the age of 10 years old, according to police. He had the children wait in his vehicle, and then went inside the house. He is accused of beating and sexually assaulting the woman, according to a press release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

During the attack, Siackhasone told the woman he intended to kill her and the children, authorities said.

One of the children went inside during the assault and witnessed some of it, according to police. The woman at one point was able to get away from Siackhasone and fled the home.

The woman was treated at an area hospital for her injuries. Siackhasone remains behind bars Monday morning as he awaits an initial court appearance.
