Man Kicks Down Door At Lake Villa Home, Attacks Woman: Police
A 33-year-old Lake County man now faces several charges following the home invasion early Friday.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 33-year-old Fox Lake man faces several charges following a home invasion near Lake Villa Friday night.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office was called to the home in the 36600 block of North Mary Drive in unincorporated Lake Villa at about 10:45 p.m. Friday after a man kicked down the front door to the home and attacked a former acquaintance, a 35-year-old woman, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Nicholas J. Coles, of the 0 to 100 block of Lippincott Road in Fox Lake, punched her several times before a 43-year-old man, who was inside the home at the time, was able to push Coles off of the woman, according to authorities.

Coles also struck and bit the man before fleeing, police said.
A sheriff's office deputy patrolling the Spring Grove area located Coles' vehicle and found him inside a home in the 28200 block of West Stewart Avenue in unincorporated Spring Grove. The deputy also found him in possession of methamphetamine.

Coles was taken into custody and has been charged with home invasion, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, domestic battery and battery. Coles is being held on a $200,000 bail and is next expected in court on Aug. 3.
