Man Who Went Missing In Chain O' Lakes Found Dead: Coroner

The 52-year-old Mount Prospect man has been identified as Robert Mozdzynski.

LAKE COUNTY, IL β€” A body found Monday afternoon in Lake Catherine near Antioch has been identified as a 52-year-old Mount Prospect man. Robert Mozdzynski jumped off a pontoon boat operated by his son at about 3:50 p.m. Saturday to swim and after briefly resurfacing, went underwater and was not seen again, authorities said.

Authorities searched for two days for MozdzynskI before fire department divers recovered a body on Monday afternoon. The water in the area where the man went under was about 30 feet deep.

The body has since been identified as Mozdzynski, according to a statement Tuesday from the Lake County Coroner's Office. Preliminary results from an autopsy show Mozdzynski died from drowning.

Toxicology results are pending, authorities said.
